TFCU Raises More Than $22K for CMN through Car Show

Tinker Federal Credit Union (TFCU) hosted its 20th Miracle Car Show on May 1, 2021. Thanks to our car entries, sponsors, employee donations and a generous matched donation from Co-Op Miracle Match, the event raised more than $22,000. All of the money raised will stay in Oklahoma and benefit Children’s Hospital Foundation. Children’s Miracle Network has been one of TFCU’s corporate charities for the past 20 years.

After this crowd-pleasing event was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, the show cars returned this year in record numbers, with a total of 157 entries.

The 2021 Children’s Hospital Foundation Champion Child, Ady, toured the show with her family and Miss Moore-Norman 2020, Alyssa Payne. Ady chose her favorite car of the show, a 1936 Ford Deluxe Roadster owned by Raul Perez. Ady said she chose Perez’s car because its eye-catching custom paint job had all of her favorite colors. TFCU’s CEO, Mike Kloiber, who is retiring later this year, awarded his final “President’s Pick” to a 1930 Ford Roadster owned by Gary Burley. Kloiber stated the patriotic custom paint on the car made it his favorite of the show.

Along with all the fantastic cars, the event featured a 50/50 raffle for door prizes, music, craft vendors and food by Michael’s Catering. There were 18 award categories and six special awards with winners voted on by registrants. (For a complete list of winners please see below.)

“Our 20th Miracle Car Show was simply an amazing day! We had nice weather and record turnout, with outstanding participants ꟷ many who have become friends over the past 20 years of this show,” said Starla Shatswell, TFCU’s car show coordinator. “Special thanks to all who donated, attended or helped make the day a success!”
